What to expect?
This course concentrates on the differential calculus. It covers limits and continuity of functions. Derivatives of a single as well as several variables functions. Applications of derivatives in Economics and business are included. Especially, marginal analysis, extremal or optimization problems, competitive v.s. complimentary products and Lagrange multiplier technique. Finally, an introduction of mathematical of finances is introduced. The students will learn about compound interest, present and future value of money and present and future values of annuity which are major tools for economists.
